Steve Bruce on Longstaff transfer - crowdfm

Steve Bruce insists Newcastle United are determined to keep hold of Manchester United transfer target Sean Longstaff. Longstaff, 22, enjoyed a breakthrough season at St James’ Park last year and emerged as a top target for Premier League rivals Manchester United during the following summer.

Newcastle’s £50million valuation saw United shelve their interest in Longstaff, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has again been linked with a move following the injury problems at Old Trafford. Asked about Manchester United’s interest in Longstaff, Newcastle boss Bruce told the Chronicle: ‘Look I have said it from day one, we can never stop the speculation. ‘As far as I am concerned I know Mick Phelan and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer very well and at this moment I don’t know anything about it.
